Xwindow System
The networkable, standards-based graphical system used on Unix-based workstations. It is comprised of several interchangeable components:
- XwindowProtocol
- XwindowServer
- WindowManager
- client libraries (Xlib, XCB) and toolkits (GNOME, KDE) used by applications
